Meet Our Staff

Our Family

Hi there! We are the Whites (Brad, Jenny, Macen, Molly and Emma), owners of Velo City Cycles. Brad and I both grew up with a love for cycling; whether it was recreational rides with our families, bombing around the neighborhood with friends, competing in triathlons or road races. Holland is my (Jenny's) hometown, and when it came to starting a family, we loved what Holland had to offer. We love this community and are proud to be a small part of it.

Our hope is that Velo City Cycles feels like your neighborhood bike shop. We offer many activities centered around kids, families and cyclists of all disciplines, speeds and abilities. Thank you for shopping with us and we look forward to riding with you soon!

Favorite food: Bulgogi. Preferably with rice and veggies :)

Favorite beverage: Water. This is lame, but true. I wasn't a fan of water as a kid (shocker...) but I've come around in my adulthood and I will forever be trying to make up for all the water I didn't drink in middle school.

Favorite music: My listening comes and goes in phases, but Jim Croce is always a favorite.

Favorite bike I've owned: My Salsa Warroad. I've put almost 20,000 miles on this bike in the nearly 4 years I've owned it, and every one of them has been great. From TNR to Coast to Coast to towing kids around town, it never lets me down.

When I'm not working at Velo City Cycles, you can find me biking or running around West Michigan, often to or from my engineering day job.

If I could ride anywhere in the world, it would be the Carretera Austral through southern Chile. I've read a couple memoirs about bikepacking this route through the Patagonian Andes, and it sounds breathtaking, both literally and metaphorically.
