SALES ASSOCIATE

The Sales Associate has the primary responsibility of supporting customers and making sure the store appearance is ready for customers.  They are accountable for assisting in building and maintaining an exciting, well-merchandised store environment, ad and promotional set up, and seasonal change over; all aspects that encourage the customer to come back to our store for all their customer needs.  The person in this position will be a major participant in driving sales, exceeding customer expectations and selling the sport of cycling.


JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Assist customers with purchasing decisions and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Responsible for the daily store appearance. This includes signage, merchandising, and promotional setup. 
  • Assist with inventory (receiving, tagging, displaying).
  • Responsible for assisting in training new sales associates to ensure continuity across the department. 
  • Identify fast moving products and work with store owner to ensure in-stock levels are accurate. 
  • Identify slow moving items and work with the store owner to develop a plan in which to exit or minimize stock levels. 
  • Ensure cleanliness of the sales floor and restrooms.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing 4 sales programs within each calendar year (1 per quarter).
  • Provide fitting services to customers. 
  • Help drive traffic into the store. 
  • Stay educated and up to date on industry trends, sales techniques and products we sell. 
  • Abide by Velo City Cycles policies, procedures, and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Qualified applicants must have sales experience and previous retail experience is preferred
  • Interest in working in an environment committed to providing a superior sales and service experience while increasing sales through service.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills: clear, concise and positive.
  • Passion for cycling and comprehensive understanding of bicycles, accessories, and related products.
  • Demonstrates personal effectiveness and interest in developing own skills and knowledge.
  • Proven problem-solving ability: effectively identifying, analyzing, following through and resolving issues.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week with a flexible schedule (evenings and weekends)
