Dubbed 'Straggle-Check' frame bags, these bags are designed to fit both 700c and 650b Straggler and 700c Cross Check frames. Size up one size on your bag if you've got a 650b Straggler frame and voila, it fits. These are handmade by Revelate Designs in the U.S., made of Dimension Polyant VX 21 polyurethane coated fabric. It's durable, rip resistant, tightly woven and laminated to make it highly water resistant but not fully waterproof…. Revelate advises using stuff sacks inside (such as the one in which our bags are packaged) if you risk riding in extended downpours or underwater. Surly's Straggle-Check frame bags (as well as their mountain bags) are now using a ladder strap system, which allows greater flexibility in how you attach the bag to your frame. The ladder straps let you customize the fit and placement of the mounting straps so if you have some weird contraption clamped to your frame tubes like a chain keeper, cable pulley, or some trinket grandma gave you, it won't interfere with the mounting straps on the frame bag. They're also including foam bumpers for the mounting straps to minimize thread abrasion to the bag and attachment points Quality YKK brand water resistant zippers – with an improved, water resistant zipper 'garage' – control compartment access and help keep the weather out. Zippers are sewn with a stretch panel to relieve stress on the zipper as well. Stress even kills zippers. The large main compartment has a flexible divider inside, and there's a hydration port to make sure your whistle stays wet. There's also a compartment suitable for smaller items you'll access relatively often, like your map, phone, hard boiled eggs, uncontained pudding, marbles for playing marbles, your dugout, that ring you found that makes you disappear when you put it on, or whathaveyou. Frame bags such as this are light and reasonably voluminous. They are stable because they center weight low between your wheels and body, and they go places where racks and panniers are often troublesome, like singletrack. Note: due to the rough texture of the mounting straps, prolonged use may lead to scratched or worn paint. If you're worried about keeping everything looking pristine you probably ought to look for some other type of bag, or figure a way to protect the paint, such as duct tape, or tatting a top tube doily - for example.

Dummy Rails support Dummy Bags on your Big Dummy cargo bike, and Surly's Dummy Deck bolts directly to them, stiffening the whole system for a more stable load. Dummy Rails are made of light, strong aluminum and were designed in conjunction with the Dummy Deck and Dummy Bags; each component works best when used with the others. Like all Surly products, they've built in lots of useful details. For example, the deck-attachment bosses stick up from the rails to create space between the deck and rails, providing windows to route tie-down straps and cordage; and threaded bottle cage bosses located at the rear of each rail provide mounting locations for accessories: bottle cages of course, or lights, cameras, pumps, flags, horns, light saber scabbards, disco balls, spittoons, cornucopias, etc. Dummy Rails will work with cargo frames (including the Surly Big Dummy) built around Xtracycle's longtail standards.

These two black plates fit nice and snug between the chainstays of the newly redesigned Disc Trucker (2020 and newer), allowing you to bolt on the kickstand of your choice without gravely injuring your frame. Our other silver-colored Kickstand Plates remain the best option for legacy Trucker frames, so please don’t use the old plates with the new bike or the new plates with the old bikes. Straggler is a bikepacking-inspired road/gravel bike mostly at home on pavement but ready for trail duty when called. Born on Gravel. Raised on Pavement Straggler is tuned for cross-over exploration on a wide variety of terrain conditions. It's a day-tripper and a weekender. It's a "rough road" road bike, a cyclocross bike with no pretense about racing, a utilitarian townie, a light-duty touring bike and an all-weather commuter. It's a steel gravel bicycle that thrives on the road. Think of it as a "mountain biker's road bike." If you only have room for one bike in your life, Straggler can (and should) be your one and only. Straggler's capabilities go well beyond asphalt. It also lends itself well to light touring setups. We're talking frame bags, seat bags, and "credit card touring" rather than full-blown touring. So what is this Straggler anyway? The easy answer is to say that we added disc brakes to a Cross-Check and this is close to accurate. People have asked us to make a disc version of our highly versatile Cross-Check for a long time now and almost everything about the two are very similar. Straggler is slightly different, though. The most obvious difference of course is that the Straggler has disc caliper mounts instead of rim brake studs. It’ll accept rotors up to 160mm. The rear dropouts are unique, too. They’re a partially closed horizontal design that accommodates singlespeed or geared drivetrains. They feature stop screws that thread in from the rear to further secure the wheel and to position the rear wheel for optimal shifting, plus a forward-mounted stop screw on the drive side to keep the wheel from slipping forward under the force of your gargantuan legs. The rear dropouts are spaced 135mm instead of 132.5mm like the Cross-Check simply because there are far more options for disc hubs in this spacing. Straggler shares all of the Cross-Check’s braze-ons for fenders, racks and bottle cages. The Straggler’s geometry is slightly different, with angles and tube lengths very close but not identical to the Cross-Check, but like the Cross-Check it’s ready to take you just about anywhere.
