Announcing…….the “Shut Up & Ride Club”. Our latest project!

For years now around the shop we’ve referred to a certain type of customer as a member of the “Shut Up & Ride Club”. Always meant in a postive way, it refers to someone that’s more interested in rackin’ up the miles than cleaning their bike or worrying about the latest cool new thing in Bicycling Magazine. (Now – don’t get us wrong. We are officially in favor of Cool New Things and even cleaning your bike -as long as it doesn’t get in the way of your riding!)

For those folks – and anyone else interested in “rides for self-sufficient cyclers” we present the Shut Up & Ride Club. SU&RC rides are unsupported, mapless and tend to attract riders that know their stuff and their limits. All are welcome but don’t misunderstand the presence of shopfolk as a promise that there will be someone to change your flat tire – again, these are “rides for self-sufficient cyclers”!

Dawn Patrol – This ride leaves the shop @ 5am on 2 Friday mornings a month w/ the goal of getting about 50-60 miles in before hooking up w/ the Bagel Ride @8:30. Current set dates are 6/24, 7/8, 7/22, 8/5 & 8/26.

M.A.R.D.O. – is the “Mad Ass Ride Do Over”. It follows O.D.R.A.M. (The One Day Ride Across Michigan, a great 150 mile ride that supports JDRF.) A few of us stayed in Bay City after ODRAM and rode back to Montague the next day. Fun! Date is 8/21. Talk to MC if you are curious.

THE MIDNIGHT CENTURY – If night road riding is so cool – which it most certainly is) then 100 miles @ night oughta be WAY cool, right? RIGHT! So – we’ll roll from the shop @ 6pm on 8/27 and ride ’til midnight or so.
